After a legendary career in mixed martial arts and a not-so-legendary boxing stint against Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz is entering the film world. Yes, you heard that right, Nate Diaz is acting in a movie. But how does that make any sense? How will the man who people make fun of for his seemingly ‘incoherent’ way of talking find himself in a movie – a place that requires the skillful delivery of dialogue? Moreover, Diaz is known for his no-nonsense takes, so how has he found himself in a situation that mostly involves being anything but yourself? What if we throw the name Theo Von in there, as one of the spearheads of said movie? Makes a little more sense now?
According to an update by the comedian and podcaster Theo Von, Nate Diaz has decided to collaborate with him for a comedy film directed by Hollywood legend David Spade. Von is a huge UFC fan and his ties to the fight world are well-documented through his close friendship with fellow comedian and podcaster, UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
“What’s up, everybody? I’m working on a movie,” Von said in the Instagram post with his face looking like he just got done working in a chop shop. “We wrote it, paying for it, and it’s our own thing. We don’t need anybody to help us make it, and we made it.”, he continued.
