The heavyweights are meant to be imposing, scary, and built like tanks. This isn’t the case with former UFC fighter Alistair Overeem anymore. MMA fans have witnessed him walk into the octagon with a shredded physique and bulging muscles. However, those visuals now appear to be memories of a distant past to them.

Notably, ‘The Demolition Man’ shocked the world when his image with Rizin FF CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara went viral on the internet. The Dutch fighter’s shocking transformation had the fans worried as they speculated whether he was suffering from a disease. This came just months after he weighed 249 pounds in his last kickboxing bout. Now a similar visual has the fans troubled as they spotted the ‘Uberreem’ with interim GLORY Heavyweight Champion Tariq Osaro.

Someone pointed out the shrinkage of the frame of the former UFC fighter and mentioned it was the “smallest” they had seen him.

Amid jokes and banter, an X user hoped the fighter was okay.

A comment mentioned he looked like a “skeleton”.

An MMA fan poked fun at the situation and stated the fighter was a “welterweight” now.

Similarly, another fan wondered how Overeem’s body was getting smaller.

Lastly, someone called him “underreem”.

Notably, this physical transformation is all the result of the drastic lifestyle changes Overeem has made recently. The 43-year-old fighter disclosed his weight loss journey when he appeared on June 1 on the ‘Lovin Dubai’ broadcast. Not only did it focus on his health, but it also revealed that his lifestyle changes also induced his retirement from combat sports.

Once famed for his love of steak and horse meat, Overeem has given up it all. Further, he has plans to promote health. It all began after he met a special nutritionist, Julian VanHoven.

After giving up meat, Overeem has turned vegan. He disclosed that he had no desire to eat meat. In addition, he admitted that his meeting with VanHoven made him aware of the parasites that tempted him to eat meat.

“I started doing detoxing… It’s not me who needs to eat meat. It’s the parasites that influence me,” he said. Currently, he is still working towards promoting health, and he deserved a break after putting his body on the line for almost 25 years. Hence, he has also bought shares in a health expo in the Netherlands.
