Ariel Helwani didn’t hold back when talking about Dana White and UFC 284. He went all guns blazing, expressing his frustrations with White‘s recent comments. During his rant, Helwani referred to a debate he had with Chael Sonnen about who the best promoter in the UFC is.
He said, “Got me thinking about him saying, you know, a couple weeks ago that, like if he left the UFC, ship would go down. It’s a pretty remarkable clip (talking about Dana White forgetting Islam Makhachev’s name). Come on! ”

Helwani’s motivation behind his comments was due to White‘s failure to remember Islam Makhachev‘s name during a press conference. This led Helwani to reflect on White‘s recent claim that if he were to leave the UFC, the ship would go down. Rose Namajunas added further fuel to the fire.
