UFC recently announced the induction of Jose Aldo into the Hall of Fame Class of 2023. He will be a part of the ‘Modern Wing’ category. ‘Junior’ is unquestionably one of the greatest featherweights in combat sports history. He recently appeared in the UFC 283 pressers and was asked about one of his biggest UFC rivals, Conor McGregor by a fan. The Brazilian legend gave a hilarious reply. McGregor is known to be extremely verbal when it comes to trash-talking. The Irishman’s ability to rile up opponents with words is second to none. He and Jose Aldo had one of the most memorable rivalries in the history of the UFC. McGregor had a lot to say about his then-opponent Aldo. McGregor even went as to put women’s undergarments outside Aldo’s hotel room.

Moreover, when the fight night commenced at UFC 194, Jose Aldo found himself on the wrong side of the result. Conor McGregor registered a quick knockout. McGregor proved everybody wrong and knocked Aldo out in just 13 seconds of the opening round.

The Aldo vs McGregor fight may have ended too early. But both fighters had earned a considerable amount of money. Jose Aldo recently had an interaction with fans after his Hall of Fame announcement. They asked him about his feelings for his former rival. Aldo assured he had no grudges against the former double champion. He said, “How can I have animosity?” He added, “That’s the guy that gave me the most money.”

In addition to thanking him for a big money fight, Aldo also mentioned that both fighters share cordial relations with each other. “I have nothing but respect and we have a friendship now.” It is not surprising to see fighters thank one another after a big money fight since MMA fighters are still underpaid compared to other combat sports athletes like boxers. Moreover, Conor McGregor also took to social media and extended his praises on Aldo’s Hall of Fame induction.
