“There Is Going to Be Wrestling”- Chael Sonnen Makes His Prediction for Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington 2

Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington are set to meet in a rematch at UFC 268. The pair first fought at UFC 245, in what was one of the greatest title fights in UFC history. Both men went after each other from the start and made it into a striking competition. Having wrestling backgrounds, everybody expected them to try to take it to the ground. However, that wasn’t the case at all.
Their epic fight took place in 2019. Since then, Usman has defended his title thrice and Covington has fought the former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. However, Chael Sonnen believes we shouldn’t have waited this long for a rematch. According to him, it was because of a rumor about Covington’s broken jaw.

He said, “Colby’s never come out and fully confirmed this. But that fight was wonderful, it was so hot. That is the kind of fight that Dana White would go out to the press conference and make the rematch that night… The reason he didn’t do it is there was a rumor going around that Colby had a broken jaw… Colby should not have had to wait three years… This is the fight to make.”

Sonnen continued, “It’s a prediction. One thing that’s going to be different this contest is, there is going to be wrestling. I don’t know who it’s going to favor… Whoever gets on top, is going to win at least that round.”
What have Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman said?
Colby Covington has not held back anything while talking to the media. He has ripped into his old gym and said they didn’t care about him.
He said, “I left that old gym that I was at last time I fought him. Now I have new coaches. We’ve literally been game-planning every single day for just this match against Usman. We haven’t been focusing on anybody else. We’ve just been focusing on our strategy for this rematch and making the adjustments that I needed to make from the first fight.”

However, Usman believes that Covington spat in his old team’s face. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ opined that ‘Chaos’ should be more thankful.
The champion also thinks it wouldn’t make much difference even if the challenger has changed his gym. According to ‘The Nigerian Nightmare,’ if Covington is smart, he will try to wrestle, but even that won’t bring him success.
