Conor McGregor and his peculiarly odd tweets’ story continues. The Irishman, who has been having a rough go at things recently, is making his regret felt in a cryptic message. While the fans wait for his highly anticipated comeback this year, his professional career is at a standstill. As ‘The Notorious’ trails 0-7 at TUF, questions have been asked about his zeal and commitment to his fighting career. Further, his troubles with USADA don’t help his case either. The fans are searching for answers and it appears the former UFC champion’s latest tweet drops a hint.
The 34-year-old recently turned to his Twitter handle, the platform from where he lashes out at his rivals in tweet-and-delete shenanigans. While these antics are not new, his recent tweets left the fans puzzled as he went on a tweet and delete spree for two hours!

Did Conor McGregor address his ghosts in an ambiguous message?
The fans have witnessed ‘Mystic Mac’ flatline his opponents in the Octagon with his left cross and his prodigal skills on the mic are well known. However, this time, the fans saw the Dubliner channel his inner singer and sing lyrics to ‘Drugs Don’t Lie’ by The Verve.

In the tweet, the fans can listen to him sing, “The drugs don’t work. They just make you worse, but I know I’ll see your face again.”

While the underlying meaning of his tweet can only be implied, the true meaning might evade fans. It might hint at his own struggles when he could have turned to a not-so-noble path. Alternatively, there is nothing to uncover, and it’s just his fascination with the song. We might never know.
But it’s worth noting that the Irish fighter has been subject to speculations due to his beefed-up physique. McGregor has added bulk to his frame since he sustained a career-threatening injury at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier. Some have suspected foul play and believe the MMA fighter resorted to unethical measures to hasten his path to recovery.

Does his USADA dropout suggest something?
The hypothesis also fits the speculation of why he dropped himself out of the USADA pool. In addition, the 22-6 record holder failed to register himself in time to meet the six-month testing stipulation of USADA. Thus, making himself unavailable for the last UFC PPV of the year.
However, nothing is concrete as of now and the fans are still hopeful of McGregor’s comeback this year.
