Joel Alvarez will have a chance to break into the Top 15 at UFC Fight Night.
Alvarez will meet the number 15 ranked Thiago Moises in a lightweight division battle on November 13 at UFC Fight Night, which will take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Alvarez, after a loss in his debut fight, has won three in a row. In his last fight, Joel submitted Alexander Yakovlev via an armbar at UFC 254. ‘El Fenomeno’ has never gone the distance in any of his wins in his career. He’s won 16 of the 18 via submission and 2 by knockout.
Moises, on the other hand, will look to bounce back from a 4th round submission loss to Islam Makhachev. Prior to the loss against Makhachev, Moises himself was on a three-fight win streak. The Brazilian defeated Michael Johnson, Bobby Green, and Alexander Hernandez before he met Islam, in what was his first UFC headliner.

Joel Alvarez – What will a win mean for the Spaniard?
UFC’s Lightweight division is definitely stacked with some amazing talent. If Alvarez can beat Moises and book a berth in the Top 15, some amazing future fights can be in line for the Asturian fighter. ‘El Fenomeno’ has finished all his fights and is a fighter who will gain a lot of attention if he breaks into the rankings.
However, Thiago won’t be an easy fighter to get past. Moises, out of his 15 wins, has won nine via submission or knockout. He is a proven fighter and has a decent track record. Alvarez cannot take the fight lightly and would have to be on guard throughout the fight and be at his best.
