The bantamweight fight between Petr Yan and Sean O’Malley unfolded as a close affair in Etihad Arena. However, ‘Sugar’ won the fight in a split decision.

How did Khabib Nurmagomedov react to the result?

The fight turned out to be a slugfest with Sean O’Malley pulling impressive switches between the stands and finding Petr Yan’s head every time. Therefore, he led the significant strikes on the stats. But the Russian had a control time of 5:44 minutes and hence the back-and-forth fight looked close on the cards. Significantly, ‘Sugar’ cut ‘No Mercy’ open with his boxing combination.

However, Khabib Nurmagomedov was not the only one left stunned by the split decision.

While some fans pointed out that the judges robbed the #1 bantamweight fighter, others rallied behind and rejoiced ‘Sugar’ O’Malley’s win.

Another user came in support of Sean O’Malley and blasted ‘The Eagle’. Thus, he commented, “This man[Khabib] is just a wrestler ofc he would say that tan won all 3 rounds.”
