A prelims card fight involving Christian Duncan and Dusko Todorovic put the fans in a worrying state at UFC 286, headlined by the grudge fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. The fight between two middleweights failed to stand on the fans’ expectations of an exciting and high-paced action encounter. Further, O2 Arena on March 18 became the witness to the closely contested fight. While both fighters aimed to get their hand raised, it was the Brit who added another win to his column in his promotional debut fight. However, his win came with a tint of disappointment as his opponent suffered a horrible knee injury that ruled him out of the fight.

However, the Range MMA Academy representative’s debut exploits were cut short as he tried to trip his opponent with a leg sweep. The Secutor Team representative, who won 2 of his last 3 fights, faced troubles with his knee that eventually gave up in the midst of the fight. The 28-year-old’s knee popped up open and as a result, the referee called out the fight and awarded victory to the home-grown fighter with a TKO.

This was not the debut the former Cage Fighters champion would have wanted. In the post-fight interview, the 27-year-old also appeared puzzled over the development and expressed disappointment over the anti-climactic finish. Further, 8-0 record holder extended a token of thanks to his team, who helped him prepare for his debut fight.
