She lost her mother to a formidable health battle. After bravely confronting thyroid cancer, Tracy’s mother passed away in 2016.

Her eldest brother, Jose Cortez, was an aspiring MMA fighter with dreams of competing in the UFC. However, he faced a devastating setback when he was diagnosed with germ-cell cancer in 2008. Forced to relinquish his fighting ambitions, he valiantly battled the condition for three years before succumbing to it in 2011.
