The UFC 265 pre-fight press conference went down in Houston, Texas. While Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane fight in the main event, Julianna Pena was supposed to take on Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight title in the co-main event of the pay-per-view. However, as ‘The Lioness’ tested positive for COVID, the fight had to be called off.
Despite that, Pena was present in Houston. ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ surprised Dana White by asking where is Amanda Nunes at the press conference. “This question’s for Dana, Where’s Amanda, Dana? Where’s Amanda at?” asked Pena to White. “She has COVID,” White replied.

“It’s not too late to get her here I heard she tested negative,” Pena informed White about Nunes’ latest negative test. “Oh yeah? I didn’t know that. Soon, honey. You’ll be fighting soon. Sit back, enjoy the fights this weekend, and you’ll be fighting very soon,” White replied.
“When? I heard December. Is that true?” Pena asked about a potential timeline of the fight being re-booked. “I don’t know if that’s true or not. We’ll see how this plays out. Soon. As soon as we can make it, we’ll make it. Alright? Thank you. Good to see ya,” White reaffirmed the bantamweight contender.
Pena was supposed to take on Holly Holm in May. However, as Holm had to pull out because of injury, Pena found herself at the prime spot to challenge for the title next.
