UFC 272 has been botched as soon as it was announced. The huge pay-per-view event would have hosted the rematch between interim UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan and UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. However, the title unifier has now been postponed to UFC 273 on 9th April.
This may have been done as Colby Covington vs Jorge Masvidal is set to headline UFC 272. However, both ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Funk Master’ feel that there are some other reasons for the same and are on a blaming spree.

‘Funk Master‘ was the first to fire shots. On his podcast, he opined that it was actually Yan’s vaccination status that resulted in the delay. Sterling wrote, “Confirms that he was told that they’re moving the fight because of Yan***… I fixed the headlines for you guys”
Pathetic liar desperately trying to look good and control the narrative but it won’t work. I’m vaccinated and ready to bash you anywhere even tomorrow. UFC simply doesn’t want fake champion to headline the event. https://t.co/aPG3WECd5m

However, ‘No Mercy’ couldn’t take it anymore as he replied to ‘Funk Master’s claims on Twitter itself.
The former UFC bantamweight champion tweeted, “Pathetic liar desperately trying to look good and control the narrative but it won’t work. I’m vaccinated and ready to bash you anywhere even tomorrow. UFC simply doesn’t want fake champion to headline the event.”
Aljamain Sterling fires back at Petr Yan
As Yan retaliated, the UFC bantamweight champion narrated his version of the story that he was told by the ‘bosses’. Retweeting Yan’s reply, ‘Funk Master’ wrote, “Lmao I’m only repeating what I was told from the bosses 🤷🏾♂️. Don’t get your potato ti*s in a twist! I’d happily fu* k you up tmw too. That can easily be arranged. Мышь”

The duo last met inside the octagon back at UFC 259 in March 2021. In what was Yan’s (16-2) maiden undisputed title defense, he was the favorite and dominated proceedings. However, an illegal knee by ‘No Mercy’ in the fourth round of the match forced the Russian to surrender his strap to Aljamain Sterling.
