Is Tom Aspinall the best heavyweight in the world or is it Jon Jones? UFC 304 saw some history being made with Belal Muhammad destroying Leon Edwards to become the Welterweight World Champion in the headliner of UFC 304. On top of that, Aspinall defeated Curtis Blaydes leaving the Manchester crowd in a frenzy when he KOed Blaydes within a minute.

Now it appears like he is heading for the unification with undisputed champion, Jon Jones. Aspinall just called out Jones and even Miocic and seems like he is ready for the next fight.

Tom Aspinall sets the tone for a Jon Jones bout

After the match concluded and ‘Honey Badger’ got his belt, he spoke to Michael Bisping about the next move. The video clip is up on X/Twitter to see and he states, “I’m the best heavyweight in the world”  Tom Aspinall issues a challenge to Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic, and ANY UFC heavyweight out there.”

Aspinall declared, “In all honesty, regardless of the politics behind the belt and interim the undisputed all the rest of it,  I am the best heavyweight in the world. And I have the confidence to look anybody in the eye and tell them that.” He challenged the fighter who is considered to be the GOAT by Dana White. Meanwhile, White had given the verdict that Aspinall would be considered as a backup for the Jones vs Miocic fight.

However, Aspinall said that he was ready to fight with John Jones and that he was the best heavyweight in the world. He believes that he deserves to fight fair and square despite White’s plans.

The former interim champ even proposed an idea to the UFC head honcho.

Tom Aspinall wants a HW tournament

The heavyweight title is seeing a very close race between J͏͏͏͏͏on͏es͏, ͏͏S͏ti͏p͏͏͏͏e͏ ͏Mi͏oc͏͏ic,͏ T͏͏om ͏A͏s͏͏pinal͏͏l, ͏a͏͏͏͏͏nd͏͏ A͏le͏͏͏x͏͏ Pere͏ira. Jones and Miocic are going to decide the best HW in November at MSG.  If this fight goes through then Aspinall has to wait six months for his chance at proving himself to Jon Jones. This is not something that the champion wants.

He said he wanted to fight ‘Bones’ or Stipe. He was not discrediting Miocic and declared that a lot of people were underestimating him and even Aspinall for that matter. The champ declared that whoever wins the November fight is his opponent for his next bout. He suggested that the UFC boss should have a heavyweight tournament with two fights on the same night rather than waiting for 6 months. He proposed that four fighters fight on the same night to decide the champion in HW.

Honey Badger said, “Jones, Stipe, me, Alex? Four-man tournament, two fights in one night, and let’s find out the real heavyweight champion of the world. We’ve got the best heavyweight of all time, the best MMA fighter of all time, the light heavyweight champion, and then we’ve got me.”

Do you think a Heavyweight tournament like this might happen?
