The Belal Muhammad vs. Leon Edwards fight might be on the card if Jon Anik’s leaked information proves to be right! It is a known fact that Belal Muhammad has been looking forward to redemption against Leon Edwards, especially after the iconic eye poke by Edwards during UFC Fight Night in March 2021. Since then, Muhammad has been an eager contender, and now it seems he might have what he wants if truly Dana White sealed the deal. 

Now the UFC commentator gave fuel to the fire by posting an X post saying, “Fight booked for Manchester, England. See you there. @bullyb170.” The news was also quickly picked up by Championship Rounds and they wrote in their Instagram post: “Did Jon Anik just leak Belal Muhammad being booked for UFC 304 in Manchester?”

UFC 304 is supposed to take place in Manchester and many fans have already theorized that Edwards might be competing on this card. Along with that, Muhammad also happens to be the number 2 contender in 170 lbs and has beefed with Edwards for a long time now. Muhammad was a backup fighter in UFC 296 for Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington and he had called the bout, “a joke to the division.”

The bout between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad is already making quite a buzz in the UFC industry after their first one ended with an eye poke and the fight ended in round 2. Consequently, Muhammad is on a 5-win streak and Edwards captured the welterweight championship belt with a KO to Kamaru Usman. He also defended his title against Usman and got a victory over Colby Covington. 

Meanwhile, Belal Muhammad was seen with Islam Makhachev’s training team recently as well and he posted the picture on X too. Edwards provoked his opponent by calling Muhammad, “the least intimidating person in the organization” and he also asserted his desire to fight the former even after UFC 300 did not happen for them.

Nevertheless, the welterweight fight is yet to be finalized, and Anik’s cryptic message has added a new layer of intrigue to the ordeal. Meanwhile, Edward’s coach also feels he might face Belal Muhammad next. 

Belal Muhammad is eager for redemption and probably the title!

UFC 300 was supposed to see the face-off between Muhammad and Edwards but it did not come to play. However, this did not deter the former from wishing for the bout. Talking to MMA Junkie, while discussing UFC 300 ‘Remember the Name’ revealed, “I’m just hoping (UFC CEO) Dana (White) is waiting to do one of those epic announcements.”

Muhammad’s trust in the UFC CEO seemed firm as he added, “Dana is not a man to go against his word.” Even though the fight did not transpire in UFC 300, Muhammad still has hope. Interestingly, Edward’s coach also hinted that the next opponent could be Muhammad.

Coach Lovell previously in an interview with TalkSport MMA conveyed to the host Kweku Afari, “Because he wasn’t on the 300 bill, no doubt there’s a big Muslim contingency in England in Manchester. So I think it will be Belal. It’s not written in stone, but 99.9 percent. I think it will be Belal.”

Whether this is all speculation or the fight does finally materialize, we will have to wait to find out!
