Can Khamzat Chimaev's comeback against Luke Rockhold reignite his career, or is it too late?

Khamzat Chimaev is returning to UFC! This is a pretty surprising rumor because he is just recovering from food poisoning, which stopped him from participating in the UFC fight night against Robert Whittaker. On top of that, he is also tied up in a cryptocurrency fiasco. In all of these shenanigans, there is a new development that he might be returning very soon against Luke Rockhold, in a super wrestling match.

Khamzat Chimaev might return to UFC very soon

The middle-weight champion who has been undisputed till now, might be returning to UFC sooner than fans anticipated. There was the latest Tweet from XetinfoMMA saying, “Khamzat Chimaev vs. Luke Rockhold Super Wrestling Match will take place in one of the episodes of HFC Reality Show.”

 

He has not returned to the octagon for nine months and has gone through a hard time because of his health. Surprisingly, even after so many ailments, he is still back in training and is exercising in full swing. ‘Borz’ had started his UFC career with a full band and achieved three back-to-back bonuses in two months. He had unfortunately failed to make weight for the Nate Diaz fight in 2022 and then things were not going well for the fighter.

However, now it seems like he might be coming back to the octagon sooner than later. On the other hand, his supposed opponent Rockhold has also returned to UFC in Pittsburgh. His last fight was with Michael Bisping 15 months ago. Meanwhile, Chimaev is training in full swing.

A recent video of the fighter has surfaced online, which showed his training, and it seems like the fighter is ready to come back to the octagon. He was lifting rocks and shadowboxing in the video, along with other team members from his camp. Looking at his energy, the fans confirmed that his sickness from poisoning was cured.

He had last fought Kamaru Usman in UFC 294 and was going to get his title shot against Whittaker, which unfortunately did not happen due to the sickness. Fans wrote comments like, “That one exercise just put him in bed for 2 days.” They also wrote, ““Aaand hes sick with a cold again.” The fans are concerned about his health and do not seem excited about his comeback.
