Conor McGregor is possibly the biggest name in the UFC. The Notorious made a reputation for himself by beating opponents with confidence and style. But, since his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor hasn’t stepped into the Octagon. He had kept himself busy working in a big-budget Hollywood flick alongside Jake Gyllenhaal after landing a dream role.
But Michael Chandler previously claimed to be the original choice for the makers of the film. He wants a shot at the former double-division champion and spoke highly of him.

Michael Chandler wants to face Conor McGregor
Michael Chandler touted himself and claimed to be “the biggest fight that he (Conor McGregor) can take,” during the post-fight presser at UFC 281. The 36-year-old suffered a round 3 submission loss against Dustin Poirier on 13th November. The anticipated lightweight bout between ‘Iron’ and ‘The Diamond’ went in the way of the more lustrous stone.

Chandler still believed himself to be one of the tougher opponents McGregor can face, despite coming off a loss. He said, “I think at this point he comes back, and he looks at the suitors, I don’t think I’m the easiest fight that he can take…”
“I think Conor McGregor stepping back in the octagon does big numbers no matter what, (but) he and I step in to the Octagon, and we’ll do staggering numbers.” And backed himself to be the suitable candidate for ‘Mystic Mac’s much-awaited return.
Chandler also showered his respect upon the Irishman. He wants to see him return to his love of fighting. Chandler said “a legend of the sport. He’s the biggest name in the sport.” about McGregor.
‘Iron’ got a chance to act in Roadhouse alongside Jake Gyllenhaal
The Missourian MMA fighter previously claimed himself to be the first choice for the makers of, Roadhouse, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor. He said “now he’s doing the Road House remake with Jake Gyllenhaal, the movie. I actually got called about that, Jake Gyllenhaal is playing Patrick Swayze [role] – I don’t know [who McGregor is playing].” In a PBD podcast.

Time will tell when Conor McGregor is bound to come back to the Octagon. But, Michael Chandler has made his plea and entered his name among the long list of candidates who want to face The Notorious.
