A recently emerged video shows Khabib Nurmagomedov sparring and coaching a young Shavkat Rakhmonov. Rakhmonov is an up-and-coming UFC welterweight who has impressed the MMA community with his skills. Moreover, after just four wins for the promotion, analysts and UFC commentators are already dubbing him as a contender. Perhaps ‘The Eagle’ helped him lay the groundwork for that. However, did you know Rakhmonov was once coached by none other than the former undefeated lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov? According to Coach Javier Mendez, Nurmagomedov’s decision to retire from coaching is all about family.

Maybe in the future, if the opportunity presents itself, I would be very interested in training with them. They have a very good school.” He further added.
