“Very Comfortable for Me to Accept”- Disturbed Joe Rogan Exposes the Reality Behind $57.86B Industry

It is common knowledge that Joe Rogan has the largest and most popular podcast in the world. And the reason for this is that he invites a range of guests from different backgrounds, professions, and perspectives to talk on a variety of topics. The podcast host is also not afraid to explore controversial and unconventional subjects, even if it gets him in trouble occasionally.

British comedian Jimmy Carr joined Rogan on episode #2045 of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. During the podcast, they got to the topic of the healthcare industry, which prompted the podcast host and comedian to discuss their issues with the nearly $60 billion industry.

Joe Rogan gives his thoughts on the medical industry

Rogan began by expressing the positives of the medical industry. He said that the industry was responsible for some amazing breakthroughs that had helped save lives and improve the quality of life for millions of people.

“We’re talking about this oversimplification. They [medical industry] make a lot of amazing medications that have helped so many people, that have prolonged lives, saved lives, helped people,” he told Carr.

However, he thought that the medical industry and ‘medical establishment’ gatekeep medical knowledge, as well as the mainstream media, who report on this stuff and set the narrative and the spectrum for debate. He added that he was reluctant to accept this fact but ultimately did after being presented with enough evidence.

“It’s just disturbing to realize they’ve [medical industry] been captured and that the media’s been captured so hard. And that was a real revelation. That, it was very uncomfortable for me to accept,” he added.

Rogan further stated that he was able to talk to doctors and medical experts who held heterodox views. This, according to him, was how he could understand the problems with the medical establishment.

“And a lot of that information that I got was from doctors, from heterodox doctors, directors that would explain to you the problems with the system, where and how they got discouraged, and doctors that were fortunate enough to go independent.”

Rogan has come under fire over the past few years. He has been accused of promoting medical misinformation and platforming medical experts who hold controversial views. And it is important to remember that he is not a medical expert. So, it is prudent to look at the arguments from both sides before one jumps to a conclusion.
