VIDEO: Deiveson Figueiredo Breaks Down Into Tears- Calls for a Rematch Against Brandon Moreno in Mexico

Deiveson Figueiredo recaptured the UFC flyweight strap from the reigning champion Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision at UFC 270. The win came after a stupendous five-round war which many believed would go down as a majority draw. However, it was Figueiredo’s night, and he addressed the arena with teary eyes.


After being done with the thanking, Figueiredo faced Brandon Moreno and called for a rematch with him in Mexico. Should this happen, it will be unprecedented as no two fighters have had four UFC fights.

Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno walked into the octagon for the third time to settle the score once and for all. Although ‘Deus da Guerra’ was a huge underdog in the fight, he impressed everyone with his grit. The Brazilian stunned the champion a few times and didn’t get bowled over as they combined to put on a barn burner.

The decision met with a lot of controversy as ‘The Assassin Baby’ was able to take the battle to the challenger for the better part of the fight. Moreno matched Figueiredo punch-to-punch and even made a lot of takedowns during the 25-minutes the fighters were in the octagon.

The flyweight championship co-headliner got into controversy as soon as the winner was announced. The judges gave ‘Deus da Guerra’ the unanimous decision victory. It came as a surprise to some people, as they may have felt that Moreno looked better in the octagon.

UFC legend Nate Diaz, who was in attendance in the arena, immediately tweeted against the decision. He wrote, “Moreno still the winner”

Not only the Stockton native but the Siberian UFC superstar and interim UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan also expressed his negative opinion.
