UFC 279 witnessed several things that were not scheduled before. First, the UFC legend Nate Diaz was set to face the rising force Khamzat Chimaev in his last fight for the promotions. But the turn of events at the last moment resulted in something else. Dana White made several changes at the last minute to keep the showdown alive.

On the other hand, an unfortunate event between the UFC team and Conor McGregor’s coach Kavanagh became another storyline.

According to reports, Kavanagh and Johnny Walker were ‘kicked’ out of the arena as soon as they went backstage after Walker’s fight. Kavanagh reported it on Twitter.

“So @ufc just came and kicked us out. No tickets for us and not allowed to stay backstage to watch. Pulled out back door, kicked out, no even shoes on,” Kavanagh detailed.

He even shared the video in which Walker appeared on the road in a fighting getup without shoes. Earlier, Walker had faced Ion Cutelaba in the opening fight of the UFC 279 main card. Walker performed incredibly and won the fight via submission in the first round itself.

What did Dana White say about this chaos?

The post-fight press conference was packed with many queries. One of them was why the UFC treated a fighter and his coach with such disrespect.

White did not try to defend this act of embarrassment. However, he shared his thoughts over the entire drama.

“I don’t know, Lynne just told me a little bit about it before we walked in here. I guess ever since covid. They started this thing with a get the fighter right out of here. I don’t know why that happened or what happened. I mean we’re not throwing Johnny Walker out in the street shoeless”, White said.
