The Joe Rogan Experience suffered a setback when it lost its top spot in the recent Spotify’s Most Popular Podcast rankings. Helmed by UFC commentator Joe Rogan, JRE surrendered its #1 rank to the new and idiosyncratic podcast in town, Brain Leak.

JRE topped the Spotify charts and racked record numbers since penning an exclusive deal with the streaming company. The deal, which was later disclosed to be worth $200 million, tied its content to the Swedish company and also resulted in its skyrocketing popularity. However, the podcast also had its fair share of controversy in the past. Despite its tumultuous days, the popular podcast didn’t face a dip in numbers.

While JRE recently went through a knockdown in the UK as it lost its crown to YouTuber WillNe’s podcast TWOTI, its dominance in the United States went unchallenged. However, the fans orchestrated a coup to topple JRE with Brain Leak, the podcast that recently aired its first episode.

The Joe Rogan Experience slips from the top

In the latest Spotify’s Top Podcast Charts in the United States, the new unscripted and unfiltered podcast Brain Leak occupied the top slot, dislodging JRE.

The podcast, hosted by YouTube creators Sean McLoughlin (aka Jacksepticeye) and Ethan Nestor (aka CrankGameplays), released its first episode on 19th April. The pair, known for their hilarious and off-the-rails gaming reactions, indulge in off-beat topics and don’t shy away to address any irrelevant issue in the podcast.

Likewise, in an interview, Jacksepticeye revealed the purpose of the podcast. He said, “I just want to hang out and chat and have fun and try and make each other laugh for like an hour every week.”

How did the fans react to the surging podcast Game Leak?

The fans belonging to the gaming section expressed elation and also launched a bid to take over the JRE. They rallied behind the appeal of the co-host of the podcast, CrankGameplays, to “overthrow Joe Rogan”.
