His 2022 title challenge against Francis Ngannou remains the highlight of his purse history. The payout nearly touched the million-dollar mark! While his base salary was around $500,000, adding his share of the PPV buyouts ($400,000), a $50,000 performance bonus, and $42,000 in sponsorships, his total paycheck came to roughly $992,000.
A year later, the Frenchman returned to stake another claim at the vacant heavyweight title. But the match against Jon Jones ended almost as soon as it began. The versatile American MMA genius handed Gane his second career and UFC loss. Financially, it wasn’t as lucrative as the Ngannou fight. Still, it paid handsomely. His base salary was around $750,000, and with sponsorship deals included, his total earnings reached roughly $800,000.
Going back, it was during his bout with Derrick Lewis, where Gane captured the interim heavyweight title, that he began commanding a six-figure base salary and a share of PPV revenue. Naturally, fans often wonder what Gane’s first UFC paycheck looked like.
For his 2019 debut against Raphael Pessoa, he earned $20,000.
Over the years, as his profile grew with consecutive wins, his payouts increased substantially. For example, in his second fight against Don’Tale Mayes, Gane earned around $113,500, including a $30,000 base salary, a $30,000 win bonus, and a $50,000 performance bonus.
His overall take-home pay showed steady growth, with the 2020 matchup against Junior dos Santos yielding $104,000. Two fights in 2021, against Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov, helped Gane earn over $300,000 combined.
Most recently, Gane pocketed around $360,000 for his split-decision victory over Volkov in their rematch. So, given his track record and rising popularity, fans can expect him to score another big payday with his third title challenge.
