While the former champion entered the ring with the intention of claiming back his vacant lightweight title, Makhachev had plans of his own. The Dagestani fighter had another UFC legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov, in his corner. And the game plan worked wonders as the Sao Paulo fighter eventually tapped out in the second round.
Charles Oliveira pouring his heart out
In the viral clip, the fans could see the Brazilian fighter sitting in a corner. While surrounded by his teammates, Oliveira was understandably in a gloomy mood and teared up. Further, we can see Oliveira’s teammates trying to console him.
After ripping apart the lightweight division in 2021, this loss might have derailed the fans’ expectations to see Oliviera on UFC’s Brazil card. The 33-year-old fighter took to Twitter and declared that he needed a break. Further, the Brazilian dismissed the probability of fighting on next year’s Brazil card set to happen on January 22.
