There would be very few MMA fans who haven’t heard of John Kavanagh. The 45-year-old is famed for coaching the finest in the sport of MMA, one of whom is ‘The Notorious’, Conor McGregor. Kavanagh recently took to Twitter as he shared a video of the ‘Venom’ star, Tom Hardy.

In the video, Hardy was seen participating in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held in Milton Keynes, UK. The bouts of Hardy received huge pops from the crowd.

What John Kavanagh had to say about the video of Tom Hardy

Kavanagh was definitely impressed by Hardy’s impressive technique as he captioned his tweet, “You think the Gi is your ally? You merely adopted the Gi. He was born in it, molded by it…”.

His words implied the fact that Tom Hardy might be known to most as an actor and not a martial artist. But he is definitely great at fighting it out on the mat as well.

The caption by Kavanagh is also a callback to Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, in which Hardy played the role of Bane. The original quote read, “Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it.”
