“You’re Not an Activist… This is Your F**king Job”- Joe Rogan Condemns ‘Lunatics’ Working at Big Tech Companies

UFC commentator Joe Rogan is nowadays usually in the headlines and not always because of the fighting business. Rogan, who keeps inviting guests from various arrays of life, often discusses volatile topics. In the recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Antonio García Martínez, an ex-engineer at Apple and Facebook, was the comedian’s guest.

One such discussion on the show was around the work culture of the tech giants. For example, Google, Apple or Facebook were many times brought into the stream of this candid conversation. Moreover, Rogan shared his friend’s experience who used to work at Google.

During this segment, Rogan and Marinez were discussing Data Privacy and how IT companies exploit the personal information of users. Rogan said that a bunch of ‘lunatics’ functions in these companies and the environment there is of ‘utter madness’.

While sharing a real-life story of his friend, Rogan said, “The way she described it to me, she’s like it is utter madness and the lunatics are running this asylum to a certain extent because there’s a lot of people in the company that she works for now. So a lot of people that are inside the company that legitimately are mentally ill and they consider themselves activists.”

“And when confronted, they talk about their activism. And like, she’s like listen, you are here for you know for x amount of hours a day, this is your f*ck*ng job. You’re not an activist,” Rogan added.

Joe Rogan on the culture of big tech companies

Rogan and Martinez also discussed how the culture is almost like a cult in the big tech giants. Martinez revealed that this is because of a policy of ‘bringing your true self’ to the organization. Hence, the employees voice their political beliefs in the workplace.

It is not the first time that the podcast host and UFC commentator has made a bold statement in public. Even previously, Rogan had commented on the tech companies and their social responsibilities.
