Moreover, her opponents soon learned to fear her presence in the arena. Although her debut in MMA was against Liz Carmouche, Rousey’s bout against Miesha Tate was the one that made her fearsome. However, the credit for the victory definitely goes to the ones who coached her.

Rousey’s journey toward success began at a very young age, with her mother as her coach. But then, her decision to join Pedro’s gym is what turned her into an Olympian. With perfect techniques, she has now become a force to be reckoned with.

Rousey’s interest in judo came from her mother, who was crowned to be the world champion in judo, in 1984. DeMars became Rousey’s first coach to lift her up. DeMars revealed that ‘Rowdy’ had a lot of trouble back when she was in school. That was the reason why she decided to learn judo. But judo not only helped her get through school but also make a career.

In the end, it was definitely Rousey’s mother who was the proudest. “She went from not fighting in a senior tournament ever to sitting on a flight to go to the olympic games in four months”, said the proud mom.
