UFC heavyweight star Derrick Lewis’s quick yet emphatic victory has surely raised the bar for him. Lewis simply demonstrated a stunning high knee strike, which was more than enough to take down Marcos Rogerio de Lima. Coming from a three-match losing streak, the victory was unquestionably indispensable for Lewis, and he earned it.

But the real show began after the fight. Lewis had quite the antics, shedding his fighting shorts and entertaining the crowd with a cheeky crotch chop. Lewis didn’t feel his action at that moment, but he later became remorseful when explaining it in a YouTube interview. However, he picked the WWE bigshot Triple-H who served as his inspiration.

While Lewis was having a conversation with a well-known sports journalist and comic, Dave Schmulenson, on his YouTube channel, he had a lot to express considering the post-match incident. Schmulenson broke the ice as he asked a rather direct and uncomplicated question to Lewis about the incident. He asked, “Walk us through that moment when you put off your shorts and then you went parading around the octagon.”

Lewis expressed what he felt back then and how he feels right now through his statements. He quoted, “I was just feeling good, you know. It wasn’t planned. I don’t know why I did it. I feel embarrassed now I’ve done it. Uh , hopefully I don’t do it no more.”

Schmulenson didn’t stop there as the string of doubts continued. He asked, “What is your message for Triple-H, DX, suck it? You paid tribute right then and there”. Well, the question made Lewis cheesing as it was regarding the legendary WWE wrestler, Triple H.

Lewis answered in joy as he said, “Oh yes! My good old days. What 1999, early 2000? That is when wrestling was real back then. Good old days.”

Lewis made it quite obvious that, following the fight, he was unaware of what he was doing. At the time, he appeared to be enjoying himself, but later, he was not proud of his conduct. However, his actions were inspired by the 14-time world champion, ‘The Game’, Triple-H, whom he considered a wrestling maven in his childhood. Etched in memory, Lewis enjoyed expressing those days. But did you know? That gesture has a brief history.

Arms were crossed, and then there was a pushing motion. It became a sign of defiance and rebellion and was frequently employed as a taunt against rivals or superiors.
