UFC Flyweight Alex Perez picked up a first-round stoppage victory against Jussier Formiga at UFC 250. The pay-per-view was being headlined at the UFC Apex facility for the first time.
Alex Perez went on to stop Formiga via calf kicks which is a relatively uncommon appearance inside the cage. The TKO stoppage came in 04:06 of round one and will grab the attention of his fellow Flyweight contenders.
Alex Perez has been within the division’s top 10 rankings and was first seen on Dana White’s Tuesday night contender series. Picking up an anaconda choke submission, Perez is all about making big statements.

The Team Oyama fighter has only lost once in the promotion back in 2018. The loss to Joseph Benavidez temporarily halted his fast-paced success inside the promotion. Going 11-1 in his last 12 fights will certainly go a long way in solidifying his position in the division

Alex Perez spoke to the media post-fight and gave his thoughts as to his future in the division. As per the recent announcement, the UFC will go on with Fight Island and Perez is looking to compete there.
Joseph Benavidez is set to take on Deiveson Figueiredo in an anticipated Flyweight championship rematch. Perez expressed his desire to compete as a backup even if it means he has to fly himself out to the island.
There are many overlapping theories about Fight Island but the company President has said that further information is to be released.

Alex Perez has gone on to put himself in a commanding position with his most recent victory. He is certain to capitalize on this success. Perez has previously discussed a move up to the Bantamweight Division, but it seems like 125 pounds is where he will stay.
