Kevin Holland recently competed in the UFC 279 main event. The main event’s fight card went through a reshuffling after three fighters on the card failed to make the weight. The event became famous for the chaos it caused, UFC legend Nate Diaz’s farewell match, and the controversy regarding UFC’s new shoe sponsorship deal.

The new shoe-wear sponsor- The Project Rock has been in news for all the wrong reasons. Nate Diaz, in particular, is not fond of The Rock’s shoes. But the ‘Trailblazer’ Kevin Holland has a different take on it.
Holland’s support for Dwayne Johnson
Kevin Holland’s social media handle is loaded with funny and sarcastic posts. Interestingly, he also has something to say about the UFC-The Rock sponsorship deal.

The American seems to come in support of The Rock at the first glance in his most recent Instagram post. But a closer look will reveal otherwise.
He tagged the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and captioned the post, “@therock I like the new red shoes don’t listen to them other guys.”

The 29-year-old fighter tied for the record of most UFC wins in a calendar year in 2020. Sadly, he was on receiving end of a first-round submission loss to the rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev.
Incidentally, Khazmat had also missed his weight and instead of facing Nate Diaz, he faced Kevin. As a result of this loss, Holland has a professional record of 23-8.
What Nate Dias had said
Nobody is sure whether the design of the shoes is flawed or the shoes don’t offer comfort, but the shoes have been condemned by everyone, be they fans or fighters.
In an interview with ESPN, former UFC legend Nate Diaz said, “These shoes f***ing suck…..F*** these shoes!”

Adult actress Kendra Lust also shared a similar opinion when she commented on a Twitter post. She replied, “Like @NateDiaz209 said those shoes suck!”
Another controversy erupted when UFC tried to dissipate the negative publicity in a unique fashion. UFC posted a video of Cory Sandhagen’s interview before his UFC Vegas 60 bout with Song Yadong.

The catch, however, was that the interviewers used The Project Rock shoes instead of mics.
Earlier, Bloody Elbow had revealed the sponsorship deal details. It claimed that the UFC fighters had to wear the new shoes at every UFC event. But the profit generated with the deal will not be shared with the UFC fighters.
