It has been a fine start to the campaign for Shaw, who was rested for the midweek tie with Derby. The defender scored his first senior goal against Leicester City and has gone on to miss only one league game, after suffering a concussion on international duty with England.

These performances led to the 23-year-old picking up August’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards and he is peak condition as the season continues to progress.
