Winner of the 2020 Mr. Olympia, Big Ramy (Elsbiay) is an upcoming bodybuilding legend. A strong contender for Olympia 2022, Big Ramy again became the center of controversy. In a video, his coach Dennis James once spoke openly about the time when Big Ramy was injured. 

Dennis James’ opinion is important to ensure that Ramy’s image is not negatively affected before the upcoming Olympia 2022. The video, however, does not speak of the complete story. In another podcast, James spoke more in detail about the controversy of a ‘dent’ in Ramy’s right leg. He also gave a clarification about whether this ‘dent’ would affect Ramy’s chances for Olympia 2022. 

Dennis James candidly speaks on the controversy 

Dennis said that he was there in Dubai when Ramy did an MRI scan on his leg in this podcast. “It has nothing to do with injections, okay. He never shot where he has the issues”, Dennis spoke about Big Ramy. 

The bodybuilding coach also told that Ramy has had that dent for five years but no one spoke about it before. He also said that there were no tears. However, he admitted that maybe Ramy maybe had lost muscle in the region of that dent. “They basically explained to him that the muscle is kind of glued together-there’s no blood supply”,  Dennis said. 

Dennis also told that Big Ramy looks different when one sees him in person as compared to how he looks in his photos. This reflects Dennis’s attempt to silence any critics who had spoken about Big Ramy’s dent, which they saw in his photos.

When asked whether this dent could affect Big Ramy’s chances in Olympia 2022, Dennis answered negatively. He also said that Big Ramy looked better at present and was much heavier than before. 

What is the upcoming bodybuilding champion doing now?

Currently, Big Ramy is prepping up for the 2022 Olympia, which will take place in December 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, Big Ramy will face some of the best bodybuilders, such as Nick Walker, Brandon Curry, and Rafael Brandao.
