?Bruce Lee didn?t just practice martial arts, but he also helped many martial arts enthusiasts by teaching them the art of Kung fu. In the 60s Lee inaugurated a martial arts school in California in order to teach fighting prompts to his students. However, he was challenged by a Chinese fighter for making his efforts in teaching Lee’s much sought-after skills.

In 1964, when Lee started the training center for martial arts, he got into a conflict with some well-known Chinese personalities for teaching Kung-fu to non-Chinese people. As per Lee?s wife, Linda Lee Cadwell, the Chinese fraternity then sent one of their top fighters to challenge the Little Phoenix. Interestingly, Lee?s Chinese opponent, Wong Jack Man, found the Dragon?s persona intimidating, and distinctively described their fight sequence.?

As per the 2021 Screenrant report, the Xing Yi Quan fighter, Wong Jack Man indulged in a fight with the Little Dragon. As per Wong?s revelations, as soon as Jack and Lee approached each other, the then-24-year-old Lee, ?faked a friendly handshake in order to score a cheap poke to the eyes? of his opponent.

The Northern Shaolin master further detailed the episode, by mentioning that Lee intended ?to kill him?. Owing to his fighting skills and relentless prompts, Wong described Lee as a ?mad bull?. However, as per the report, the fight came to an abrupt halt when Lee got fatigued.

The report even mentioned that no one won the fight. And interestingly, both opponents agreed to not disclose the results.?

Why is the fight sequence between Lee and Wong is controversial?

Wong?s version of the fight sequence isn?t the only version available. There are two other perspectives on it. The first perspective is from Lee?s wife, Linda Lee Cadwell. According to her, Lee won the fight against his Chinese opponent. Then, there is the viewpoint of Tai Chi Master William Chen, who witnessed the fight as a spectator. Chen believed the fight ?had no definitive winner?, and it ended in a tie.?

Because of so many different speculations, the fight became one of the most controversial fights of Bruce Lee?s life. The fact that neither of the contenders ever disclosed the results themselves, makes it an even bigger point of contention.?
