American alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has had a few high-profile relationships that have caught the public’s eye. Less than a year ago, she announced that she and her NHL star fiance broke off their engagement and decided to part ways.

Vonn had been together with professional Canadian ice hockey player P. K. Subban for about three years before reportedly getting engaged in 2019. But in December 2020, they ended their relationship despite showing every sign of wanting to build a life together.

Lindsey Vonn spent over $3 million shortly after the split

The most decorated female alpine skier Lindsey Vonn bought a $6.7 million house with her then-fiance in April 2020. But after their split, the house ended up listed on the market barely a year later, and Vonn purchased a bachelorette pad in Beverly Hills.

The newly single star opted for a three-bedroom, four-bathroom residence that covered 3,420 square feet and cost the ski sensation about $3.4 million. The Olympic champion’s new digs featured European oak floors, Ralph Lauren window treatments, and numerous French doors.

Though we could consider it a bit of a downgrade from the four-bedroom, six-bathroom family home she owned with her ex-fiance, it proved to be no less luxurious. Vonn owned a perfectly manicured backyard which contained a pool, spa, and chic lounging areas.

The wall-to-ceiling windows, open floor plan, and white color scheme gave the house a bright and spritely look. According to Realtor, it was built in 1948 and recently furnished.

The duo got engaged twice. Once when Subban proposed to Vonn with an emerald ring in August 2019. And subsequently, Vonn popped the question again in December of that year, wanting to subvert the narrative of gender norms.

“We talk about equality, but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too, and this is what PK deserves,” she explained on social media. But despite all the signs pointing to a happy ever after for the lovely couple, they separated a year later.

The two athletes announced their split with matching posts on social media, which they have since removed. Lindsey Vonn expressed her gratitude and respect for her ex-fiance. “After much consideration, we have decided to move forward separately,” she wrote

“We will always remain friends and love each other immensely. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time.” Similarly, Subban also dedicated a post to Vonn, referring to her as “one of the most kind and caring people I know.”
