While Manchester United faced Arsenal in a thrilling contest last night, there was another battle going on elsewhere. Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce exchanged a few words on Twitter as both their favorite teams went head to head. Despite their poor recent form, United won the game 3-2, handing Bolt the eventual bragging rights.

While Bolt’s undying love for Manchester United is no secret, Fraser-Pryce, too, is an avid Gunner. Hence, as both their favorite sides faced each other, a Twitter banter between the two was inevitable.

Usain Bolt vs Fraser-Pryce

In the first place, Bolt wished Fraser-Pryce by posting a subtle “Good evening Shelly,” tweet, when United took the lead. To which, she reiterated, how United and penalties are a better love story than twilight. After the scores were level at 2-2, United received a penalty as Odegaard committed a foul on Fred; which led to Ronaldo scoring his 801st goal for club and country. Fraser-Pryce spoke about how United keeps getting penalties, while Arsenal was denied a clear one during the game.

Taking the fight to Bolt, Fraser-Pryce then tweeted, “You come out from hiding??? One win and unu hyperactive.”

Fraser-Pryce’s reference comes as a cheeky little dig on all United fans, who have been quiet for a while now, given their team’s recent performances.

However, as Manchester United appoints a new manager in Ralf Rangnick, fans now expect to turn around a rather poor season. As for Arsenal, they already have their work cut out, but now require consistency from their young squad that has shown plenty of promise. Notably, the battle between Bolt and Fraser-Pryce will restart soon, with both their sides finding their form, with the second half of the season yet to play.
