Significantly, it was the first time that Jamaica sent a bobsleigh team to the Winter Olympics.
Fast forward to 2022, they have three bobsled teams heading to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. As the games are ready to start, Usain Bolt received an invitation from an Olympic broadcaster to take part in the competition. Here is his reply!

Notably, Bolt’s everlasting romance with Beijing can’t be forgotten. He arrived in Beijing on the grandest of all stages, the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He won three gold medals and created world records that are yet to be broken. The relay medal he won in the Games was stripped off, however. But, for Jamaicans, the bobsled teams heading to Beijing would recall the famous memories of ‘Cool Runnings’.

Jamaica makes history

The movie ‘Cool Runnings’ depicted the struggles that four men had to get a chance to appear for the Olympics. Hence, from there, they never looked back. Although the four-man team crashed in their last run, enormous cheers met them at the finishing line as they completed the race.
