Carl Lewis talks about Elaine Thompson-Herah

Winning two gold medals in the 100-meters competition, Lewis dominated the athletics world from 1983 to 1996. His gold medal victories in the World Athletics Championships were a treat to watch. Recently, he talked about how Thompson-Herah’s smooth running style helped her win many gold medals. Particularly, Lewis broke down one race she competed in with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

“What Elaine is doing is just running relaxed. Her race looks like one continuous race. So the thing is that we are trying to stay away from breaking the race down to a dry phase, no it is only one continuous motion.”

“It’s just like if you’re a car or something that is moving, you don’t wanna have stops. That’s why in automobiles now, race cars, they are using automatic transmission because it’s better than shifting,” said Lewis.
