US Soccer Aid 2022 Team Announced: Did Usain Bolt Make the Cut?

Celebrity matches across every sport are a treat to watch. The intrigue they build is stunning. The whole fantasies of actors playing professional sport and how they would fare in it is a curious concern for everybody.

The Soccer Aid matches fit in that bracket. Started in 2006 by Robbie Williams, it aims for the aid of children’s charity UNICEF. England would go against the rest of the world, providing spectators with a stunning match. Many former players play the match which draws mass attendances in the country.

Moreover, the team sheets are out as they are some fantastic players, playing this time around. Last year’s star player and, Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, has made it into the team and will try to repeat his performance.

 

Usain Bolt to attend soccer aid match

An ardent follower of Manchester United, Bolt dominates the headlines wherever he goes. Everyone knows his love for soccer as he played in Australia for some time. Although his career did not materialize, he loves the game to bits. Thus, the new World XI for the match sees Bolt appearing to score goals and show off his pace. Along with him, there are other famous athletes and superstars playing in the match.

Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger leads the team to the pitch. Actor Martin Compston, comedian Mo Gilligan, and singer Chelcee Grimes will play in the match. Apart from them, former players Patrice Evra and Robbie Keane will appear in the game.

As for England, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, and singer Liam Payne are the headline acts. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp will lead them. It would be a great match to watch with the stars on display.

Last year’s brilliant match

Last year’s match saw the World XI beating England 3-0. Bolt appeared for the match along with Roberto Carlos, Clarence Seedorf, and Patrice Evra.

Coach Wenger spoke about the match and loves the initiative.

“I am really looking forward to this special football match in June. It’s great and special to play a football match together with former opponents for a good purpose. Football unites, football gives hope and I am looking forward to making my contribution on Sunday 12th June at the London Stadium,” said Wenger.
