Are there any more events for Mikaela Shiffrin?

Things are not clicking for Mikaela anymore. But, her hopes can be ignited with the last combined competition. It involves one downhill run along with two slalom runs and will be the last competition for her to finish on the podium.

But the form at which she is going currently, it looks highly unlikely. However, looking at her past, she has won the silver medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics for this event, which can be an added boost to her confidence ahead of her performance.

Shiffrin is not focused on winning a medal

Heading to the downhill competition, she spoke about not focusing on the victories but just getting a chance to compete in these races. Her Olympics have been dreadful this year and Shiffrin just wants to compete without the added pressure of winning a medal on her mind.

“I’m not focusing on the medal anymore. It’s just trying to do my best execution every day. Anyway, that’s my best shot at a medal. So it’s a little bit of maybe a paradox … that your best chance to have that performance is to stop thinking about the performance and to focus on what you’re doing in that moment. So I’m just trying to be present in the moment, especially with the downhill,” said Shiffrin.
