Elana Meyers Taylor missed her son
Although there is no official confirmation, she is imminently going to retire after her performances in Beijing, according to ESPN. The final race of her Beijing Winter Olympics happens on Friday and maybe after that, she decides to pack her bags. At 37, she also became the oldest woman to medal in the bobsled competition. That itself is a significant achievement. But, with her two-year-old son Nico, she wants to spend some time with him and spoke about it earlier.
“My son was taken away from me, so to spend an extended amount of time away from my son, that was the hardest part. Away from my family, that was the hardest part. This entire journey has been a family mission the entire time. So now to be away from them at the most critical time, when I needed their support the most, it’s been really difficult,” said Taylor.
