Despite her failures in the giant slalom and slalom competitions, Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin gave in a good effort in the Super-G event. The talented skier underperformed during the first two competitions. However, she returned for the Super-G competition and finished the whole course. With the expectations of a whole country looming over her, Shiffrin is processing what went wrong in Beijing.

She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and with that experience comes pressure. Thus, she would love to forget these Olympic Games; although, she thanked the fans and fellow celebrities who stayed with her during the tough times.

The sensational skier returned to the hill to take part in the Supergiant slalom competition. Although she was at a rapid pace during the first split, she could not carry that momentum down the finishing line. Hence, she put on a time of 1:14.30 and finished ninth in the rankings. Likewise, there was a difference of +0.79 to the top as Shiffrin ended her Super-G event. A disappointed Shiffrin though loved the support she received from people all over the world and thanked everyone involved.

“I would never have expected to feel in this moment, you know severely underperforming in the Olympics. I would never have felt that humans could be so kind. And, I would have never expected that. It is the most surprising thing of my Olympic experience that’s how kind people have been in the face of my failure. It is failure, it’s okay to say that. I am okay with that and I am sorry for it. But, I was trying, I am proud of that,” said Shiffrin.
