The court ruled out any provisional ban as they gave the nod for her to compete in the figure skating competition. However, the reasons for using it have put her in the spotlight as fans posted some hilarious comments on the social media site. The International Olympic Committee’s permanent chair of the disciplinary commission, Denis Oswald, spoke to the reporters on the incident, and the reasons have left everyone in disbelief.
“Her argument was this contamination happened with a product her grandfather was taking,” said Oswald.

Ahh, yes, that time I accidentally took my grandfather’s heart medication which was also coincidentally a banned performance-enhancing drug while I was in an elite competition – that’s just a tale as old as time. We’ve all been there.

Valieva's defense was that she was taking care of her grandfather and they drank from the same glass. I am reminded of the time I told my parents that a bead fell off of my dresser and into my nose. #KamilaValieva

Do you know where I can get trimitazedine for adult nationals? My grandfather is dead. I don’t have Kamila Valieva’s luck.

do they really want us to believe that kamila valieva drank from the same glass as her grandfather, in a pandemic, when she's an elite athlete? 😭✋🏾

Kamila Valieva will add a move to her 'In Memoriam' program where she dispenses heart medication to her grandfather. It will be prior to her triple axel with arms aloft. The ISU is awarding additional points for transitions and composition. #KamilaValieva #figureskating

Kamila Valieva's lawyers now says 15 yr-old Russian skater failed Oylmpic doping test because of "contamination from medication her grandfather was taking."
So this is like "tainted supplement from a teammate?"
Got it.

Knowing her failed drug test, she successfully appealed against a Russian Anti-Doping Agency and escaped other provisional suspensions. Thus, Valieva will compete in the figure skating competitions to land the gold medal. An unlikely turn of events as the trolls keep coming in for the young athlete at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

She will perform at the Beijing Winter Olympics
To sum up, the whole situation is a mess. Significantly, she talked about being “happy” after the decision but “emotionally tired” after the controversial incident. Hence, questions have been raised about the consistency of the decision. When Sha’Carri Richardson tested positive by the Anti-Doping Agency, they imposed a ban on her for 30 days, forcing her to miss the Tokyo Olympics. Valieva talked about the incident which made her dejected.
“These [past] days have been very difficult for me. It’s as if I don’t have any emotions left. I am happy but at the same time I am emotionally tired,” said Valieva.
I hope First Channel will film Kamila Valieva's grandfather watching her compete with a glass of water next to him. We can only pray that Ted Barton will be providing commentary. #figureskating #BeijingOlympics2022
