During an interview, Chris Bumstead revealed his preparation for the title. The icon has been the reigning champion of the Classic Physique category for 3 years. Since the champion has been preparing for this moment for a while, he talked about his hard and grainy look post-workout. However, the champion followed it up with a warning.

Chris Bumstead does not recommend his routine
Talking about his water retention method, Bumstead detailed what his routine looked like. The icon started his preparation with a method called water load. Here, he drank about 10-12 liters of water a day in order to regulate his body. This prompted his body to mostly expel water. However, this changed a few hours before the championship. About 16 hours prior to the contest, Bumstead would restrict his water intake.
