On this channel, he shares valuable insights about bodybuilding and nutrition. Recently, Jay Cutler gave his top three preferences for exercises to develop the perfect abs.

Cutler’s views that abs aren’t made in the kitchen highlight that merely a good diet is not enough to make abs. Boiling it all down to display his three favorite exercises for abs training, the Olympia champion posted visuals of him doing the said exercises.

Jay Cutler discloses his abs training and the secret for perfect abs
The bodybuilding champion began by stating, “Everyone hates training abs, but abs aren’t only made in the kitchen, they’re made in the gym. The bodybuilder shared that his three most preferred exercises for abs training were rope crunches, hanging raises, and leg raises.

Later, Cutler also gave his strong opinion on leg raises. “These are the hardest, but they are the ones that really bring out the most abs.” The Olympia champion also implied that 15-20 repetitions for the abs training would be helpful. Cutler also stated that using weights for abs training was not a compulsion.

Along with this video, Cutler also showcased how he did deadlifts. The exercise of deadlifts plays a significant role in strengthening abdominal muscles. The 4X Olympia champion described he didn’t do very heavy lifts. Continuing, he elaborated, “I do at least ten repetitions.” It depicts Cutler’s dedication while doing workouts for bodybuilding.

Also, in another interview, Cutler revealed some minute details. “I did work abs for 45 minutes after every part.” It seems like, Jay Cutler’s dedication while competing in the bodybuilding competitions would have been on another level.

Cutler’s frank admissions about his training while preparing for bodybuilding competitions
The 4X Olympia champion narrated he did stretching exercises before competing in bodybuilding competitions. Cutler also shared that he didn’t perform an intense repetition of them. “My reps weren’t pushed to that, so it was, my recovery was a little faster,” he explained.
Jay Cutler acknowledged his stretching activities as the cause of his growing legs. He also mentioned that he spent 20 minutes each day stretching, following his morning routine before every competition. The four-time Mr. Olympia also disclosed that, before a bodybuilding contest, he stretched in a sauna.
