Lou Ferrigno is a retired professional bodybuilder and also a famous actor. The legendary American bodybuilder has won the IFBB Mr. America title and is also a two-time recipient of the IFBB Mr. Universe title.

Ferrigno is also well-known for his role as a superhero character “The Hulk” in the Marvel movies. Unlike other superheroes, the Hulk is an angry character, and Ferrigno once revealed why it was easy for him to relate to his role.

Lou Ferrigno had similar anger issues to his movie character
Earlier this year, during a candid interview with Pioneers of Television, Ferrigno talked about his acting career. He also shared many stories and incidents from his “Hulk” days and recalled other memories.

The bodybuilder revealed that his real-life anger issues made him easily resonate with the Hulk’s character. “Most actors in the business you know major actors they have a lot of insecurities that relate to their childhood,” said the green superhero.

In the series and movies, the Hulk is shown as a big, angry hero who causes a lot of destruction while fighting evil. Ferrigno, who also suffered from anger issues since childhood, used his real-life experiences to bring these raw emotions on-screen.

He explained, “Myself, whole life I was the Hulk. I had a lot of anger in me so it was easy for me to relate, to release that anger, to show the sensitivity, the warmth because all this has to do with the childhood.”

Due to Ferrigno’s incredible acting skills and iconic roles in Hollywood, the bodybuilder is also regarded as a great actor.

In 1977, Ferrigno made his acting debut with “The Incredible Hulk” tv series. He also released his bodybuilding documentary – Pumping Iron, in the same year.

The bodybuilding documentary and “The Hulk” series made Ferrigno a well-known figure amongst the audience. In 1983, Ferrigno starred in a science fantasy adventure film named “Hercules,” where he played the main protagonist.

The bodybuilder has not yet announced his retirement from acting, but it is unsure if we will ever see Ferrigno on the big screen again. The bodybuilder is currently working as an entrepreneur and also trains young athletes to achieve their goals.
