Being able to cross paths with your idol is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And Chris Bumstead lived through it when he met Arnold Schwarzenegger during one of his championships. While many comparisons have been made between the two bodybuilders, Bumstead has always maintained Schwarzenegger’s superiority.

In a recent interview with Full Send Podcast, Bumstead opened up about his journey and fellow bodybuilders. Amidst that, he made sure to mention some of Schwarzenegger’s qualities that stood out to him over the years. Let’s take a look at what inspired the 4x Arnold Classic champion.

Speaking to the hosts, Bumstead shared his experience being in the bodybuilding community and its positive side. This prompted the podcasters to bring up one of the frequently discussed topics – Bumstead v/s Arnold. While fans argued that the current Classic champion stood close to Schwarzenegger in terms of physique, Bumstead felt otherwise.

Since bodybuilding standards were different back then and now, the champion felt that a comparison with the legend was not fair. In fact, Schwarzenegger shall always be the GOAT in the bodybuilding world. A lot of things about the legend were inspiring, and Bumstead chose to focus on picking up those skills.

Bumstead did not hesitate to choose the Austrian Oak over the Quadfather. He explained, “I know I can grow my legs and I train them… and I’ve done it, but my arms have just been a bi*** to grow”. Looks like Schwarzenegger has won him over in many ways!
