Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt became acquainted when Pratt began dating Schwarzenegger’s eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, in 2018. The following year, The Guardians of the Galaxy star became Schwarzenegger’s son-in-law. Since then, the bodybuilding legend and the MCU actor have developed a close relationship and admired one another on multiple occasions. While Schwarzenegger is known for his gift-giving customs and values, one such occasion left Pratt confused yet happy when Arnold Schwarzenegger sent him an unexpected present in 2021.

In July 2021, Chris Pratt appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his then-upcoming film, The Tomorrow War. During their conversation, Kimmel asked if Pratt’s father-in-law, or as he put it, “Terminator-in-law” gifted a present. With much intrigue, Pratt revealed what Schwarzenegger gifted him for his birthday.

Chris Pratt said that the bodybuilding icon got him “A really beautiful cigar box with artwork from The Tomorrow War.” In an attempt to describe the thoughtful present, he said, “It’s my picture, and it says The Tomorrow War and then you open it up and there will be cigars inside.” said the MCU actor. On top of that, Schwarzenegger also signed the present.

After listening to Pratt’s story, Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t control his laughter. “That is the most Arnold thing I’ve ever heard! A promotional item and he signed it!” said Kimmel while laughing. The Terminal List star said, “He (Arnold Schwarzenegger) signed Happy Birthday Chris, love Arnold.”

Kimmel then asked Pratt if the bodybuilding icon also wrote his surname on the cigar box, to which the Hollywood star said that he did not. Smoking cigars is one of Schwarzenegger’s favorite hobbies, and thus, makes for a wonderful present according to the Terminator actor.

Pratt isn’t the only actor who got into the habit of smoking cigars in the 80s action cinema icon. Throughout his decades-long career, Schwarzenegger has shared his hobby with many co-stars. In fact, Schwarzenegger has even convinced Carl Weathers who started smoking after working with the bodybuilding champion on the sets of Predator in 1986.

Besides Weathers, the former Mr. Olympia’s co-star for the film Twins (1988), Dani DeVito, also began smoking cigars after working with Schwarzenegger. The Austrian Oak has also shared a technique of dipping cigars in tequila.
