With Mr. Olympia 2022 just around the corner, the anticipation has reached its pinnacle concerning the next champion. However, the next set of concerns is whether the reigning winner is able to defend his title. Will Big Ramy claim his third win? Or would someone else swoop in and dethrone him after two years?

Big Ramy has been constantly working with his coaches Dennis James and Chad Nicholls to reach his best form before the competition begins. Experts believed that though Ramy managed to win the contest last year, he wasn’t in his best form and was barely able to sustain a narrow win. Moreover, if he returns to the competition, in the same manner, chances are that the result wouldn’t be in his favor.

Dennis talks about Ramy’s perp

Recently, Big Ramy’s coach Dennis James connected with Dave Palumbo for the latest Rx Muscle YouTube video to talk about Ramy’s preparations for the upcoming tournament. James spoke about Ramy’s struggles in the past and how, at one point, he was ready to give up. However, he pushed himself through it and came out of it as the victor, in the truest sense of the word. Further, he added that the scenario now is quite different from what it was a year back for Ramy.

James revealed that he keeps receiving messages from people complaining about Ramy’s legs being lighter than they were before. He added that earlier people used to complain about his legs being too big. But now that he has cut down on that, even then, the barrage of complaints never ceases.

Additionally, looking at Ramy’s present form, he feels that now Ramy “flows better”. James further added, “He doesn’t have that overpowering lower body compared to his upper body. Because his upper body looks like it’s gotten wider, his lat spread, especially his rear lat spread–front and rear, are back to where they were at the beginning.”

Big Ramy may face tough competition

While the coaches are proud of Ramy’s progress, they are also aware that it isn’t going to be an easy win. James shared his opinion that if Ramy fails to give his 100% on D-day, he will fail to defend his title.
