Bodybuilder Shockingly Dies in Sleep at the Age of 43

The year 2022 hasn’t been a great one for the bodybuilding community. Earlier this year, bodybuilder, Paul Poloczek of Poland, passed away just hours after participating in the NPC Worldwide Championship in Germany. Just 37 years old, he left the bodybuilding fans in dismay.

A month earlier, another renowned bodybuilder, Cedric McMillan had passed away after suffering a heart attack at the age of 44. Recently, another bodybuilding star suffered a tragic death.

German bodybuilder Andreas Frey passes away

Prominent German bodybuilding star, Andreas Frey passed away last week. While the cause of death is unknown, some reports claim that he died peacefully in his sleep. Frey was just 43 years old at the time of his death.

Andreas’ nutrition brand, Frey Nutrition paid a tribute to the late star, sharing his picture on the brand’s official Facebook handle. The caption read, “It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that Andreas Frey, the founder of FREY Nutrition, passed away on the night of October 20th. to 21. [He] died suddenly in his sleep.”

Further, it read, “Our sympathy goes to his bereaved family, above all his wife Ina and his daughters Anna and Lisa.” (Translated using Google Translate)

Andreas’ wife, Ina, who is the co-founder of Frey Nutrition, will take over as the company’s head.

The German bodybuilding star took to bodybuilding right from a very young age. He started training for the sport at the age of 15. Frey shot to fame in his 20s, participating in the IFBB and NABBA events.

One of his most notable performances came at the 2006 PDI Night of Champions. The German star finished in second place, ahead of the likes of Sean Allan and Jason Palafox. The only man to beat Frey in that event was Lee Priest of Australia, considered one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.

Frey was a true fan of bodybuilding. Even after ending his career prematurely due to an injury, he made sure to help other bodybuilders in the community. It gave rise to his supplement agency, Frey Nutrition.
