Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently on a crusade to motivate fans to stay fit. Every week, through his newsletter, The Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger shares priceless tips to achieve fitness. Recently, the bodybuilding legend gave a detailed workout regime in response to fans’ questions about working out at home. With this, The Austrian Oak also explained how individuals can customize their workout as per their experience level.

Schwarzenegger shared his experiences of working out at home. Recounting the processes involved in customized versions of pushups, situps, and squats, the bodybuilding champion recalled how he did pullups from trees. Directing fans to set a timer before the workout, Schwarzenegger segmented the exercises according to the experience level. Let’s check it out.

Developing a unique strategy for better assimilation of domestic workout sessions

The Austrian Oak told fans to begin with pushups and then perform reps of lunges. Here comes the twist. His advice was, “Return to pushups and do one fewer rep than your first set.” In fact, he gave an example or better understanding that if one did 10 reps in their first set, going by Schwarzenegger’s logic, nine reps would do the trick for them in the second set.

Later, Schwarzenegger suggested fans do lunges one more time but with lower reps. He then recommended, “Continue alternating exercising and descending by one rep until you only perform only one rep of each exercise.”

Further, The Austrian Oak customized the workout for fans as follows:

  • Advanced (Trained for 5 years or more): Begin with 15 reps (pushups) after which do 15 reps (lunges) on each leg.
  • Intermediate (Trained for two years consistently): Commence with 10 reps (pushups) and then perform 10 reps (lunges) on each leg.
  • Beginner: Initially do 5 reps (pushups) and then 5 reps (lunges) on both legs.

Schwarzenegger also stated that beginners could do pushups on their knees or keep their hands on a bench or chair if required. Further, he added that they could use the support of a wall, chair, or even a couch if they felt that lunges were difficult.

The newsletter is a powerhouse of information for fitness enthusiasts. Recently, Schwarzenegger penned in his newsletter an interesting strategy called the One-Hour Fix to achieve fitness.

The Austrian Oak elucidated how an additional hour of rest can be tremendously beneficial. “Adding 1 hour of sleep to your day can support healthier eating habits, reduce hunger, and limit the likelihood that you crave foods that are higher in fat and sugar.”  Schwarzenegger also added that, according to a study, individuals sleeping for 6.5- 7.5 hours ate fewer calories. He also claimed that good sleep was beneficial for various hormones generated in the body such as GLP-1.
