On 14th February 2023, former bodybuilder and powerlifter Dawn Whitham lost her long-term battle against cancer. The news of her demise was announced through her Facebook account. Years ago, Whitham was diagnosed with brain cancer. She had been documenting her treatment and sharing it with her fans ever since. Additionally, in a post shared in November 2022, Whitham revealed she got cancer from Melanoma (tanning).

Despite the illness, Dawn Whitham never gave up on training and bodybuilding. She continued to work out in the gym. Moreover, as Whitham was an avid fan of Sylvester Stallone’s popular character Rambo, she was often seen donning a similar outfit. Gradually, she earned the nickname Rambo girl from her fans. Naturally, fans were heartbroken after hearing the news of the passing of their beloved fighter.

The bodybuilding world mourns the loss of Dawn Whitham

On 14th February 2023, the news of the passing of the bodybuilding legend Dawn Whitham was announced through her Facebook handle. A simple “DAWN MARIE WHITHAM JUNE 23, 1965 – FEB 14, 2023” was used to share the news. Soon after the tragic news was announced, fans took to the comments section to pay their respects. One fan commented, “Omg. Dawn the bravest warrior I’ve ever seen. My heart is broken. Such an enormous loving soul who brought so much joy to all of us. I always prayed she would by some miracle beat this RIP beautiful friend💔💔💔”

Another one added, “My heart hurts. Dawn Whitham-Hartley My deepest sympathy to family, loved ones and friends of Dawn.” A third one wrote, “Oh Bob!!! This breaks my heart to read 😞 Dawn Whitham-Hartley was such a fighter and an inspiration to many. I have such respect for her…. You though were her Hero💙 Rest with the Angels Dawn 💕”

A shocked fan added, “I am speechless…. RIP Rambo girl 💖.” Another one wrote, “I am so so sorry for your loss. Dawn was an inspiration to me and all cancer suffered. May she rest in eternal peace. 🙏❤️”

Furthermore, thinking of the grieving loved ones, one fan wrote, “Condolences to her husband, family and love ones. Dawn was a testament to never giving up. Be in peace, strong and brave lady.”

Heavyweight champion Dawn Marie Whitham was 57 years old at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hartley.
